Apsley Wood - SOLD, Hampshire - Over 5 acres, £75,000

Apsley Wood - SOLD

A spacious open woodland with vistas through the trees to farmland on the far side of a gentle valley. Beech and pine planted on an ancient woodland site are evenly spaced and at this stage in their life span are increasing in diameter - putting on girth, on their way to become fine mature specimens.

Walk up the internal track from the ridestop entrance and sit on the larch bench; in winter you will see through the trees, in spring you can enjoy the bluebells and in high summer you will experience the vibrant green of the beech leaves, knowing that trees are growing and increasing the value of your timber. This part of east Hampshire is truly beautiful and is part of the South Downs National Park area.

This is Gilbert White territory- he was a parson-naturalist and probably walked across these woods. His study of local plants and their dates of emergence - the study of phrenology - makes fascinating reading in his book, "The Natural History and Antiquities of Selbourne".

Access Is directly off Kitcombe Lane, a public highway known as a byway open to all traffic.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
