Coed Derwen Fawr (Great Oak Wood) - SOLD, Carmarthenshire - 5¾ acres, £45,000

Coed Derwen Fawr (Great Oak Wood) - SOLD
Coed Derwen Fawr (Great Oak Wood) - SOLD
Carmarthenshire

Excellent access, level ground, pretty stream and some magnificent specimens of mature oak - an all round lovely broadleaf woodland.

Coed Derwen Fawr, named for the lovely big oak that stands at the entrance to the wood, has so much to offer.

At just under 6 acres it's big enough to feel like a proper escape but not overwhelming from a woodland management perspective.

There is an interesting cross section of broadleaf species in here, reflecting the maturity of the woodland. The mature specimens of oak, ash, birch and alder amongst others are interspersed with younger birch and the occasional beech. At understory level there is an excellent growth of holly and hazel, and young sapling growth of oak, ash and willow. Wildflower and honeysuckle thrive, and all this diversity is further enhanced by the section of stream which runs along the north eastern boundary, fantastic for bird and wildlife.

The southern half of the eastern boundary runs along the cleared ride maintained for the route of the power line.

Derwen Fawr is extremely accessible along a very robust stone track only minutes from the main entrance gate with direct access of the public road, and within easy reach of Kidwelly, Carmarthen and links to the M4.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
