Coed Llwyngwern (Alder Grove), Carmarthenshire - Over 6 acres, £35,000

Coed Llwyngwern (Alder Grove)

The access to Coed Llwyngwern is along a solid stone track which loops through the whole of the larger woodland known as Home Covert. It is a lovely approach and the track is an excellent one, quite accessible to two as well as four wheel drive vehicles and on level ground throughout.

At the very end of this track you come to the entrance to Coed Llwyngwern, located at its northern most tip, and here there is a parking area marked by a wooden ride stop with a wooden name board. It would be quite possible to park up a camper van here, and what a lovely peaceful place to camp.

This corner of the wood is graced by some lovely mature specimens of oak, sycamore and ash, with some large oak standards along the earth bank marking the eastern boundary.

A short distance into the woodland there is a substantial area of coppiced alder, which with some thoughtful management could become a productive income or resource generator for the woodland. Amongst the alder are some nice oak saplings which, with attention, would mature well into valuable standards.

Further into the woodland the species become more diverse. There is a good understorey of young growth, hazel and holly amongst other species, as well as some impressive mature broadleaf specimens. Some wonderful oaks form an avenue in the centre of the wood here, and you'll find a bench here to sit on and admire them.

The wood is surrounded on all sides by woodland apart from the southern boundary which runs along the minor public road.

A great prospect for anyone seeking somewhere to spend time with family or for someone looking for woodland to actively manage.

Coed Llwyngwern is only a mile from the village of Trimsaran, 5 miles from Pembrey Country Park and around 6 miles from Llanelli.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
