Coed Pengam (Crooked Head Wood) - SOLD, Pembrokeshire - 3¼ acres, £25,000

Coed Pengam (Crooked Head Wood) - SOLD

Coed Pengam is fantastic woodland with so much potential for camping and family forestry. It is easily accessible and has a larger than usual level stoned parking area with more than enough room for a camper van.

The varied terrain within the wood which makes it seem larger than its manageable three and a bit acreage.

The southern part of the woodland where the parking area is located, branches off to two level areas in the western and eastern part of the wood. Along the western boundary, which is marked by a fence line, this level area extends the full length of the wood overlooking green pasture. This could be a great area for creating a clearing and constructing a camp. The larch provide privacy but will also provide good insect and rot resistant timber for building a shelter, and the forest floor is thick with ferns and in the spring, swathes of bluebells.

Cutting through the woodland on a north south axis, an old trackway leads out of the parking area, in effect dividing the wood in half, this effect emphasised by the fact that the track forms a kind of couloir running down to the northern edge of the wood. In fact, with the removal of a couple of young trees you could create your own mini Cresta Run! The ground slopes up to the eastern part of the wood where it levels out again until reaching the eastern boundary of the track.

Hidden away in the middle of the wood, is a group of three wonderful oaks which could perhaps be given a bit more light and space to create an idyllic woodland clearing, perhaps another camping spot.

There is so much potential with Coed Pengam and all in this stunning part of Pembrokeshire only 20 minutes away from its famous coastline with walks, beaches and characterful towns such as Narberth.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
