Hi,I am a qualified child-care practioner and have 20 years experience in working with children.A new Government Initiative states that children are not being given the opportunities to experience the outdoor environment.This has shown to be having an effect on their future Learning and Development.I am extreamely enthusiastic about becoming a Forest School Leader and am in the process of training to gain the qualification needed.I would love to set up a Forest School in the Leicestershire area for children to enjoy exploring and learning about our natural environment, through supervised play activities.These activites will give children,especially those who live in inner city areas a chance to experience and explore the natural outdoor environment.I hope to inspire them to respect and value our beautiful countryside and woodland areas and to gain an understanding of how we can look after and protect its future. (Examples of activites include setting up wild bird watch areas,making bat-boxes,creating areas where bugs and creatures can live, encouraging wild flowers to grow etc.)Respect will be given to the environment and Full risk assessments will be carried out and discussed with the land owner before hand,who will not be responsible for the safety of the children using the area.Contact
