Gathering, Sorting and Planting Native Trees Seeds

Slow connection? Watch in lower quality

In this film by Kate Vickers, we visit Moor Trees in Dartmoor. Established 25 years ago this organisation has been working to restore and revive precious UK habitats, such as our temperate rainforests, and increase our native broadleaf woodlands in general.

CEO Helen Aldis and Operations Manager Dave Lewis show us their tree nursery and talk through the process they go through in gathering, processing and storing native tree seeds, planting native tree seeds, through to growing on the young saplings. They highlight the importance of the local community and volunteers who generously give of their time.

This was filmed last Winter but now is the time to get planning your own seed gathering!
