Exactly what I was thinking. We understand bow physics a bit better than they did 5000 years ago. Unfortunately, we can only look at their bows, make presumptive copies, with modern knowledge and test them. Id like to know the real performance and characteristics. How well made were they? Did they really understand what they were doing?
Original Meare Heath bow was made of Yew heartwood and had pin nocks , not the type shown in the video. Was made tall and wide to minimize strain on the wood and string follow, while maximizing poundage. Probably has nothing to do with the height of the archer. Bow also had rawhide and sinew reinforcements strapped around the body of the bow.
