How to Dowse for Water

By woodlandstv

Slow connection? Watch in lower quality

With an academic background in physics and a range of expertise in hydrology, geology and mechanical engineering, Guy Hudson talks about his work as a professional water dowser. He discusses the historical and current need for water divining and the potential technical difficulties when drilling for water. He also shows us some introductory training methods out in the field.

I'm sorry but this has all of about zero credibility; firstly Guy's list of 'expertise' is misleading if you actually look into them. Dowsing, just as Ouija boards, crystal pendulums and other such "phenomena" are expressions of the well known ideomotor effect (please google it). Something a well trained and honest scientist/engineer/rational person would understand results in a very compelling illusion, but an illusion non-the-less. In short, dowsing has about as much chance of finding water, as closing your eyes and throwing a rocking in a random direction. Quite disappointed that this is on the woodlands TV channel 🙁

I agree with Lambda25, most dowsers haven't got a clue, the only good ones have a very sound understanding of geology.

This video shows one of the clueless ones. Anyone who pays for this sort of prognosis might as well flush their money down the toilet.

"Tapping into our cosmic conciousness"! What a load of new age nonsense, with absolutely not one shred of empirical evidence to show how it "works". Next you'll be saying Ley Lines are real.

my two cents worth. I am an engineer and base my findings on tests and objective evidence. Recently we needed to find the location of our drainfield on our new property. a friend told me about the water dowsing method. I was skepticle, but just for the fun of it I decided to try it. I made a couple rods and took them to my septic tank. From there I began to walk, and at times the rods would cross. I had my wife take note of where they crossed. I thought it was kind of cool, but not sure if it was really doing anything or if it was just random movement of the rods. Today I paid a plumbing co. $125 to put a camera and sonar tube down my septic and find my distribution box and drain field. To my surprise,,,, he found it in the exact spot where I found it with the rods! So you Baa Humbug types. IT WORKS! I don't know how, but it does. The evidence I collected proved it worked for me. Try it for yourself, before placing judgement on people. I don't buy into the whole cosmic voodoo stuff. I must conclude it works with your bodys magnetic polarity or energey, and the earths polar energy. But who will ever know for sure!

I have worked outside as a gardener in parks for 47 years.  This dowsing with willow branch and/or rods works every time.  Great for locating  underground broken irrigation pipes.   Thank you for your video, most instructive.

+Lambda25 Dear Mr Anymous, I have helped deliver water to 200,000 people in Africa. I have worked for the Institute of Hydrology. What have you done that is relevant? Guy Hudson Name supplied
