Woodlands Awards 2019 Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility:

These awards are open to UK residents only.

Winners of Woodlands Awards in a previous year cannot win an award in the same award category for a second time, but they can submit an entry (or be entered) for a different award category in 2019.

2. Conditions of entry:

Entries for awards in any of the categories should be emailed to [email protected] with the category in the subject line. Entries must be entirely the entrant’s own original work. No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete, or cannot be delivered or entered for any other technical reason. Entry constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. Woodlands.co.uk reserves the right to disqualify anyone in breach of these Terms & Conditions.

By entering the competition entrants accept that, if they are a winner, their name and any submitted texts and photographs may be published on the woodlands.co.uk website and in Living Woods online magazine, but only in the context of the Woodlands Awards.

STIPULATIONS FOR SPECIFIC AWARDS

Woodland Photography

All photographs submitted to the competition must be entirely the entrant’s own original work. Model release: Your photographs should only feature people who, if identifiable, have consented in writing to appear in the work. If anyone under the age of 16 appears in your photographs, you will have to ask for written consent from the relevant parent or guardian, which is required for us to publish the photographs. Scanned copies of these written permissions should be submitted with the entry. The photographer retains copyright, but entering the competition gives permission to woodlands.co.uk and Living Woods magazine to reproduce the image.

Woodland Sculpture

Entries for this award should be submitted in the form of a photograph (or several photographs) of the sculpture in question, along with a brief written description (up to 250 words). All photographs submitted must be the entrant’s own original work. If the sculpture in question is not the entrant’s own work, the entrant must also submit the artist’s permission in writing. Scanned copies of this written permission should be submitted with the entry.

Woodland Tool Recommendations

Submissions for this award cannot be made by employees of the manufacturer or a commercial distributor of the tool recommended, or their families or associates.

Woodland Hair (or/and Beard)

Entries for this award should be submitted in the form of photographs. Your photograph(s) can be of yourself, but if you are submitting photographs of other people, or you are under the age of 16, model release conditions apply (required for us to publish the photographs). Model release: Your photographs should only feature people who, if identifiable, have consented in writing to appear in the work. If anyone under the age of 16 appears in your photographs, you will have to ask for written consent from the relevant parent or guardian. Scanned copies of these written permissions should be submitted with the entry.

Woodland Dogs

All photographs submitted to the competition must be entirely the entrant’s own original work. Model release: Your photographs should only feature people who, if identifiable, have consented in writing to appear in the work. If anyone under the age of 16 appears in your photographs, you will have to ask for written consent from the relevant parent or guardian, which is required for us to publish the photographs. Scanned copies of these written permissions should be submitted with the entry. The photographer retains copyright, but entering the competition gives permission to woodlands.co.uk and Living Woods magazine to reproduce the image.

Woodland Contractors

Submissions for this award cannot be made by contractors themselves or their employees, their families or associates.

Forest Schools

Submissions for this award cannot be made by the organisers, staff or teachers/trainers of the recommended Forest School that is the subject of the submission.

Woodland Courses

Submissions for this award cannot be made by the organisers, staff or teachers of the recommended Woodland Course that is the subject of the submission.

Regional and National Woodland Organisations

Submissions for this award cannot be made by anyone directly involved (employees, volunteers) in the organisation that is the subject of the submission.

3. Timing:

The closing date for entries for all the 2019 Woodlands Awards is midnight on Wednesday 31 July 2019. Entries arriving after that date will not be considered for any prizes. The winners will be announced in September 2019, and contacted by email.

4. Data Protection:

Personal data which you provide when you enter this competition will not be used for any future marketing activities by woodlands.co.uk or its affiliates.

5. Selection of Winners:

The winners in each category will be determined by a panel of judges selected by woodlands.co.uk. The decisions of the judges shall be final, and no correspondence about the decisions will be entered into.

6. Prizes:

Prizes are as specified in the Awards descriptions. No cash or other alternatives are available. Woodlands.co.uk reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. The prizes will be sent once the winners have been announced.

7. Authority:

No correspondence will be entered into regarding these Terms & Conditions. In the unlikely event of a dispute, woodlands.co.uk’s decision shall be final. Woodlands.co.uk reserves the right to amend, modify, cancel or withdraw this competition at any time without notice.
